A residence permit is a document providing a foreigner the rights to reside in the Republic of Latvia for a definite period of time (a temporary residence permit) or permanently (a permanent residence permit).

Temporary residence permit is necessary for full-time students.

The sequence of conclusion of agreement:
1. Applicant should submit the documents that are necessary for admission. Applicant can send scanned documents to visa@bsa.edu.lv
2. Abiturient should pass the entry examination
3. Abiturient should pay tuition fee.

The sequence of obtaining residence permit (for full-time students):
1. The student gets a learning agreement
2. The BIA provides invitation for residence permit
3. After two days students can submit documents that are necessary for residence permit
- Bachelor’s Degree Students submit documents to the Latvian Embassy
- Master’s Degree Students submit documents to the Latvian Embassy or Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA).
4. OCMA issue decision of residence permit:
- In 30 days (71,14 ˆ)
- In 10 days (213,43 ˆ)
- In 5 days (355,72 ˆ)
5. In case of positive decision student gets visa at the Embassy of Latvian Republic
6. Student can get identification card:
- In 10 days (14,23 ˆ)
- In 2 days (28,46 ˆ)
7. Student should declare place of residence in LR at the OCMA.

The sequence of obtaining visa (for part-time students):
1. The student gets a learning agreement
2. The BIA provide invitation for visa request
3. After two days student can submit documents that are necessary for visa to the Embassy of Latvian Republic
4. The Embassy issues visa
