  Doctoral Dissertation Committee
The organization and functioning of Doctoral Dissertation Committee (“Promotion Council” under the law of the Republic of Latvia) is regulated by the laws of the Republic of Latvia: Law on Education, Law on Scientific Activity and the Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers “On the Procedure of and Criteria for Awarding of Doctoral Scientific Degree (Promotion)”. The functioning of “Promotion Council” needs to undergo the procedure of ratification by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia.

On the 4th November 2015 the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia has introduced amendments in the Regulations on Delegation of the Right to Award Doctoral Scientific Degree (Promotion) to Universities about establishment of Doctoral Dissertation Committee (Promotion Council) in “Economics” and “Science of Law” at the Baltic International Academy.
