The Mikhail Efremov School Essay Competition, which was organised by the Latvian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, the Charitable Fund of Rietumu Bank, the editorial board of the newspapers “Segodnya”, “Segodnya Nedelya”, and the magazine “Lublu!”, has gained good fame in the country. Our Baltic International Academy participates in summing up the results in a group of high school students and creates special prizes for laureates for the second year.
This year, this honour was bestowed upon Mikhail Panik and Anastasia Semenets from Riga Wilhelm Ostwald Secondary School, Maria Elksnina and Daniela Kudryavtseva from Daugavpils Technological Secondary School-Lyceum, Vladislav Babanin from Riga School “Arcadia”, Laura Novikova from Riga Secondary School № 13. They were entitled to substantial discounts for the first year of study at the Baltic International Academy.
At the solemn ceremony of summing up the results of the competition, which took place in Rietumu Bank, the laureates were cordially congratulated by the vice-president of the Latvian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature Lyudmila Smirnova, member of the board of the Charitable Fund of Rietumu Bank Sergey Grodnikov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Segodnya” Andrey Shvedov, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Lublu” Inna Avina, a representative of our academy, vice-president of the International Association of Writers Pyotr Antropov. The laureates were presented with well-deserved awards.
