Warmly and solemnly in our academy was the official presentation of paintings by Kazakh artists of the exhibition “Latvia-Kazakhstan”. It is timed to coincide with the Day of the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, which is celebrated in this country on December 1.
The presentation was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan Timur Primbetov, embassy staff, ambassadors of a number of foreign states, deputies of the Latvian Seimas, representatives of the Kazakh diaspora, chairman of the Senate of the Baltic International Academy, Professor Stanislav Buka and other BIA employees.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Timur Primbetov during the presentation noted that the exhibition of works by Kazakh artists is a clear confirmation of the close Kazakh-Latvian cultural ties and reflects great interest in the culture of the Kazakh people. The fact that it takes place on the eve of the Day of the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, whose name is inextricably linked with the formation and development of independent Kazakhstan, attaches particular importance to the presentation.
The ambassador’s speech was well supplemented by a documentary film about Nursultan Nazarbayev, which the participants of the presentation could get acquainted with.
The Ambassador thanked our academy for help in organizing the exhibition and a great contribution to the training of qualified specialists for Kazakhstan.
The Chairman of the Senate, Professor Stanislav Buka welcomed the Kazakh guests and expressed hope for further strengthening the development of cultural and scientific ties with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The curator of the student gallery of the BiArt Academy, Valentin Danilenko, who is the direct organizer of the exhibition, introduced the participants of the presentation to the works of artists of Kazakhstan, who donated them to the Baltic International Academy.
