Urgent information for international and exchange students!

Dear students,

Due to the state of emergency declared by the Latvian Crisis Management Council in order to fight the spread of COVID-19 the Baltic International Academy suspends all face-to-face studies from 21 October until 14 November 2021.

During the state of emergency, all face-to-face studies will be replaced with online and e-learning forms, as well as with other forms of distance learning. Some study courses, which are not available online, e-learning or other forms of distance learning, can be postponed.

We will try to continue studies as planned and will conduct lectures using online technologies and Moodle environment.

You can receive all necessary support and advice on how to join and use Moodle system from:

  • our IT Centre via email: moodle@bsa.edu.lv, in case you cannot connect to it, in case of any problems with connection on our part;
  • Study Department via email: macibu.dala@bsa.edu.lv or International Department via email: inter.dep@bsa.edu.lv in case you cannot find yourself in the list of study course students.

at least two days prior to the classes.

We kindly ask you to :

  • check your computers, laptops and smartphones, Internet connection, headphones and microphones
  • prepare your ID documents
  • check your connection to our Moodle system and the operation of all devices

at least one day prior to the classes.

All exams and tests during the state of emergency will be conducted in remote mode according to your academic group schedule and individual circumstances. You can always receive information about exams and tests from:

Your study schedule, the mode of lectures and their content can be changed according to the situation.

We also kindly ask you to follow the updated information:

It is your responsibility to check information about changes in your schedule! You can always specify information about changes in your study schedule in our Study, ERASMUS+ or International Departments, as well as receive information from your Director of the study programme.

If you do not attend lectures and do not pass exams in a remote mode based on your approved lectures’ and exams’ schedule, you may be expelled from the Academy without refund of your fees and guarantee payment, your visa may be revoked and you may be officially extradited from Latvia!

You can undergo your work placement or internship only remotely in accordance with the requirements of the certain work place.

All our administrative departments will work in a remote mode, so you will have an opportunity to receive necessary advice and support only remotely.

All foreign and international students are strongly recommended to contact the nearest embassy of their countries using on-line technologies and provide information about themselves.

All foreign students, who decided to leave Latvia due to the emergency reasons should maintain their temporary residence permits and visas and continue their studies using on-line technologies.
