International applicants who wish to begin their studies at the Academy must submit proof of their English language proficiency to the Academy’s Admissions Committee. The required level for degree study programmes is CEFR B2.

Other tests taken into account by the Admissions Committee
The following are academic admission tests rather than language tests, and they carry no official correspondence to the CEFR. The Academy assesses the English-language section alone; mathematical and quantitative sections are not taken into account. These results do not replace the proof of English language proficiency required above.

Previous education conducted in English
Applicants holding none of the certificates listed above may be exempted from proving their English language proficiency if their previous education was conducted in English. The Academy accepts such an exemption only where the language of instruction is stated in the education documents themselves - in the diploma, the diploma supplement, the certificate of secondary education or its annex, or the official transcript of records.
Documents issued in English do not in themselves demonstrate that the teaching was conducted in English. The Academy does not accept separate letters or certificates on the language of instruction issued by schools or other educational institutions.
The exemption may be applied only where the whole study programme and not individual subjects was taught in English. The Admissions Committee’s Chair assesses these documents and may require one of the English language certificates listed above where the evidence is inconclusive.
Erasmus+ participants and exchange students
Different English language requirements may apply to Erasmus+ participants. These are set out on the Academy’s Erasmus+ page.
Exchange students are subject to the same English language requirements as international applicants to the Academy’s degree study programmes.
