The main objective of the project was to introduce green economy concepts into the law, business, economics, ecology or management curricula of universities in Kyrgyzstan, India and Nepal, thereby adapting them to the changes in the labour market and the growing demand for new green skills in various target groups (students, teachers, professionals, young generation) and for various subject areas. Additional objectives of the project included developing modular programmes strengthening knowledge and practice in the field of green economy for integration into existing or new programmes in the beneficiary universities, improving the quality of lifelong learning through professional blended courses focused on adult education in the field of green economy and related fields, strengthening the work of public relations and marketing departments to promote the role of universities in promoting green behaviour in the local community, launching advertising campaigns and programmes promoting green behaviour among schools and colleges, applying sound management tools throughout the project implementation period. The project was implemented jointly with Kiev National University of Technologies and Design, V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University, National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics and Research Centre for Industrial Problems of Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 14 employees and lecturers from the fields of design, psychology, economics, start-up communications participated in the mobilities, special training events (lectures, seminars, workshops) were organized for both BSA students and BSA employees; meetings with program directors (cooperation plans were discussed in each area separately). As a result, international, scientific, inter-university and inter-programme cooperation significantly expanded, agreements were reached on future scientific activities, such as joint conferences, lectures by guest lecturers, renewal of the mutual short-term student exchange program; additional agreements on exchange of students in similar fields of training and agreements in the fields of science and research were signed, applications for guest lectures were received, negotiations were started on the renewal of the inter-university program, etc. Project coordinator on behalf of the Academy: Viktorija Petļaka.

The project provided support to Ukrainian citizens for the purpose of obtaining an education in Latvia and integrating. During the project, 22 groups were formed that studied the Latvian language of categories A-1, A-2 and B-1 in person and remotely in different cities of Latvia: Riga, Ventspils, Malpili. In total, more than 367 Ukrainian citizens completed the training. Objective: The SEAL-NR project harnesses both synchronous and asynchronous virtual exchange (VE) technologies to cultivate 21st-century skills among educators and young people. Targeting 250 tutors and 2,500 young individuals aged 16-30 from diverse socio-economic backgrounds across Poland, Latvia, North Macedonia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan, the initiative promotes the development of digital and soft skills, facilitates psychological adaptation to emergencies, and boosts entrepreneurial spirit. Structured around three pivotal components, the project offers:
(1) Advanced VE technology training for facilitators, enhancing their capacity to utilize digital platforms and adapt educational products for online formats;
(2) Youth Skill Development through 16 training sessions that split focus between "The 21st Century Skills" and "Social and Psychological Adaptation," aimed at bolstering critical thinking, media literacy, and employability within a digital economy;
(3) The creation of the European Virtual Hub for Education and Adaptation in Emergencies at KNUTD, which serves as a central resource for online courses and continuous learning materials.
The project integrates these virtual exchanges into the formal educational systems of state and private universities in the involved countries, as well as into non-formal learning within the youth sector, ensuring a broad and inclusive educational impact. The inclusion of an International Competition of business ideas further stimulates innovation and practical application of the skills acquired. Robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are in place to guarantee the effectiveness and impactful learning outcomes of the project. SEAL-NR not only addresses immediate educational needs but also equips participants with the skills necessary to navigate and thrive in a rapidly changing global environment.

The project is aimed at sustainable interdisciplinary cooperation of tourism operators, tourism service providers, research and educational institutions operating in the Latvian business and event tourism sector, thus increasing their competitiveness and promoting the increase of the total expenditure of foreign travelers in Latvia and the creation of high added value products, as well as business and event the creation of a tourism ecosystem to provide support to Latvian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises for developing new tourism products or services with higher added value, thereby promoting innovation, successful introduction of products to the market, the growth of the tourism sector's export capacity and increasing its competitiveness on an international scale.
The project aims to enhance the export potential of Latvia's tourism industry by promoting the development and popularization of innovative, personalized, and high-added-value tourism products. This aligns with the principles of sustainable development and supports the mission of Latvia's tourism and events sector promotion strategy for 2023-2027.
The Academy's task is to conduct research by June 20, 2025, on the development of the tourism product "Latvia Incentive Travel Product Guide (IncentiveBoxLV) - A platform for corporate activities, interactive excursions, and DPT specialized products."
The solutions planned to achieve this goal are to provide support for the economic growth of the cooperation network members, the implementation of the measures envisaged in the strategies and action plans, and the provision of appropriate management.

- Project title: ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE-STRAND-1 “Good Governance Practice: European Experience for Ukraine”
Implementation date: 01.10.2025. - 30.09.2028.
The concept of the project involves a deep study and mastery of the essence of European standards of good governance through the prism of the accumulated experience of countries that have gone through a certain path from the post-communist past to membership in the European Union. The implementation of the values of European democratic culture and intercultural dialogue is one of the priority goals of Ukrainian society. Achieving these goals as best as possible is through interaction with partners who have already become part of the EU enlargement process and have experience of inclusion in the institutional architecture of the European Union. Partners from Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, based on their own practice of EU accession negotiations and further practical steps, will be able to become high-quality advisors on EU accession, understanding of mechanisms, methods and practices of decision-making and application of standardized monitoring tools in the EU.

The project aims to foster international scientific discussion in Georgia on the opportunities for economic transformation in conflict-affected territories, with contributions to new scientific methods and research instruments:
3.1 Scientific Sparring – This method involves a “competition/exercise” between established scientists and early-career researchers, aimed at enhancing the visibility of scientific output for the public and improving the communicability of scientific thinking. Annually, 5–6 sparring sessions are conducted, whose results are applied in decision-making analyses.
3.2 Crowdsourcing Clinic – A scientific platform providing real-world data to study public needs, decision-making processes, and the effectiveness of innovative policies. An analysis methodology ensures data quality and reliability. There are 5–6 meetings per year with the involvement of 10 experts. The scientific goal is to develop a database for researching public needs.
3.3 Doctoral Network – Provides training in diverse research methodologies, develops transferable skills, fosters interdisciplinary research practice, and supports the creation of scientific and practical recommendations. Includes 3–4 trainings and 3–4 joint articles or research reports annually.
3.4 Research Cluster “Silk Road of Knowledge” – Methodology: unites students, researchers, and regional institutions; provides organizational and technological infrastructure for innovation integration. Scientific goals: strengthen research collaboration at regional and international levels and integrate innovations into educational and scientific processes.
Based on these priorities, collaboration with the Baltic International Academy focuses on interdisciplinary research that promotes the creation of innovative knowledge and its practical application:
- Cultural Heritage and Innovation: Enhancing inclusivity and integrating digital and innovative approaches in the study and preservation of cultural heritage.
- Socio-Economic Transformation and Geopolitical Studies: Analysis based on clustering methodology, involving regional institutions and strengthening international cooperation.
- Cultural Dialogue and Scientific Tourism: Establishing academic and research networks along the Great Silk Road route, organizing conferences and research visits.
- Artificial Intelligence and Radiation Safety: Postdoctoral research projects covering ethical and regulatory aspects of AI in higher education, as well as sustainable development models for radiation safety.
Collaboration will take place in various formats, including online platforms, joint research, training sessions, publications, and conferences, according to needs and opportunities.
- The project of the Daugavpils branch of the Academy in cooperation with the Ciechanów city social service (Poland) and the Social service of Augšdaugava municipality in the field of social welfare.

Project title: Unique – A Volunteer Translation Project
Overview: During the 2021-2022 academic year, the students of the study programme Translation and Interpreting participated in a volunteer project titled Unique. This project is designed specifically for students and aspiring translators, focusing on translating popular science brochures on rare genetic disorders. The project is managed by the organization Unique, a UK-based charity that supports individuals and families affected by rare chromosome and gene disorders. Its purpose is to make essential information more accessible by providing translations of these informative brochures to non-English-speaking audiences.
Project objectives: The objectives of the Unique project were as follows:
- Increase accessibility: Translate scientific content on rare genetic disorders to improve access for non-English-speaking communities.
- Enhance understanding: Ensure that families, patients, and healthcare providers have access to accurate and understandable information about rare genetic conditions.
- Support language development for translators: Offer students and aspiring translators the opportunity to develop specialized translation skills in the field of medical and scientific communication.

Project title: Audio Description for Photo Exhibition
Overview: In collaboration with the BIArt Gallery and the BIA study programme “Translation and Interpreting”, students worked on an innovative project focused on audio describing a series of photo portraits for an exhibition.
Project objectives: to make art accessible to visually impaired visitors by creating audio descriptions in three languages. This project not only broadened the scope of accessibility in art but also allowed students to apply their translation and descriptive skills in a real-world context.
Through this initiative, visually impaired individuals were invited to attend and experience the exhibition, making art more inclusive and promoting awareness of accessible communication in the arts. This collaboration showcased the power of translation, interpretation, and audio description to bridge gaps and bring art to a wider audience.

Project title: Audio Description for Georges Méliès' Silent Film A Trip to the Moon
Overview: This project focused on creating a detailed audio description for the silent film A Trip to the Moon by Georges Méliès, one of the pioneering works of early cinema. In collaboration with the students of the BIA study programme “Translation and Interpreting”, DigiMedia, and the Latvian actor Mārtiņš Vilsons, students worked to make this iconic film accessible to visually impaired audiences.
This project not only helped preserve and enhance accessibility for classic cinema but also allowed students to develop specialized skills in audio description. This initiative demonstrated how creativity and accessibility can come together to make cultural heritage available to everyone.
