Debut of a ukrainian artist at the BIA

“JOY OF THE HEART” – this is how the artist from Ukraine Katerina Baranova named her first personal exhibition, which has been opened at the BiArt student gallery of our Baltic International Academy. She got acquainted with this popular gallery thanks to the Latvian language courses which are held at the academy for Ukrainians. The lecturer introduced her to the curator of the student gallery, member of the Union of Artists of Latvia Valentin Danilenko, who positively assessed Katerina’s works and organised the exhibition.

It presents 26 bright paintings created in the original Ukrainian folk style. As the famous Latvian artist Irina Trumpele noted at the opening of the exhibition, Katerina’s works create an atmosphere of joy and sunshine, they are dominated by pure southern colors and cheerful motifs.

The organiser of the exhibition Valentin Danilenko warmly congratulated Katerina Baranova on her successful debut among Latvian artists, wished her new creative success and presented her with a set of paints and a canvas for new paintings.

The hero of the occasion thanked the BiArt student gallery and Latvian artists for the warm welcome and promised that Latvian motifs will also find a worthy place in her creative work.

The exhibition is located in the educational building of the Baltic International Academy at 4 Lomonosova Street and will run until December 15. Admission is free during the BIA working hours.
