Workshop by a professor from Lithuania

The workshop held by a professor from Lithuania, artist and designer Ričardas Garbačiauskas at our Baltic International Academy aroused great interest among students of the study field “ART”. They were attracted not only by the opportunity to try their hand at creating abstract paintings, but also by the personality of the professor himself, who is well-known as a prominent specialist in the field of abstract painting.

According to Mikhail Kopeikin, the head of the study field “ART”, assistant professor of the BIA, the organizer of an interesting and useful workshop, it is not a bad idea for future designers to get acquainted with the basics of abstractionism. In his opinion, the abstract style of painting develops in any artist an interest in special forms of self-expression, and designers also need to be able to fantasise.

Professor Ričardas Garbačiauskas gave an introductory lecture on the peculiarities of creating abstract paintings, in which colours, lines, shapes and, of course, the artist’s imagination play a special role. He managed to create a creative mood and a desire to try their strength in the students. And they coped quite well with the task. In three hours, each of them created their own abstract painting. Several of them received high evaluation from the professor. Among them is the painting “Hurricane” by student Maxim Minkov.
