Well-deserved gratitude from the Ambassador of China

The exhibition “Palette of Impressions of China”, organised by the BIArt gallery in February, aroused great interest among students, lecturers and guests of our Baltic International Academy. It presents about sixty bright paintings by twelve Latvian artists who, with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Latvia, made a creative trip to China at the end of last year. Their impressions formed the exposition of the exhibition within the walls of the BIA.

The paintings by Latvian artists also aroused keen interest among the employees of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, who took an active part in the opening of the exhibition. And last week, the exhibition was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Latvia Tang Songgen. He was acquainted with the exhibition by the curator of the BIArt gallery, member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia Valentin Danilenko and the coordinator of the creative group of Latvian artists who visited China Ekaterina Bai.

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China appreciated the works by Latvian artists and noted that they will expand the understanding of Latvians about modern China. He thanked the Baltic International Academy and the BIArt gallery for organising the exhibition, which will contribute to the development of friendly relations between China and Latvia in the field of culture.
