A good present for the new academic year was prepared by the student gallery BiArt under the guidance of its curator, a member of the Latvian Artists’ Union Valentin Danilenko. It organised the first retrospective exhibition of the works of the famous Latvian artist Nikolai Krivoshein called “Before and After”.
It aroused keen interest among students, lecturers and guests of our Baltic International Academy. Its exposition gives a visual representation of how the artist’s creative work changed before the beginning of the new Millennium and after it, from realism to symbolism and abstractionism, from fine graphics to paintings.
As Valentin Danilenko noted when opening the exhibition, this is an interesting and educative exhibition, as it expands our understanding of the possibilities of fine art and the artist himself.
The exhibition is located in the educational building of the BIA at 1/4 Lomonosova Street and will last until the end of September.
