The new personal exhibition by the famous painter-aquarellist Ivan Pustoshkin, organized by the BiArt student gallery, aroused great interest among students, lecturers and guests of our Baltic International Academy. He is a long-time friend of our academy and his exhibitions were organised within its walls several times. The artist’s personalised classroom is open here, where his amazing watercolors are exhibited.
The new exhibition presents 72 works by Ivan Pustoshkin, reflecting different periods of his work. They have always been highly appreciated by watercolor lovers in Latvia and have been exhibited far beyond its borders – in Copenhagen, Berlin, Warsaw, Kyiv, Helsinki, Toronto. They are carefully kept in private collections in many countries.
As the curator of the gallery, member of the Union of Artists of Latvia Valentin Danilenko noted at the opening of the exhibition, the creative work of Ivan Pustoshkin is unique in its own way, it is imbued with admiration for the beauty of the surrounding nature, which he skillfully displays in his works. Young artists have a lot to learn from him.
Famous artists Valery Makovoy and Babken Stepanyan highly appreciated the work of their colleague too. And Robert Stepanovich, on behalf of Ivan Pustoshkin, who due to illness was unable to attend the opening of the exhibition, thanked the academy and painters for their attention to his creative work.
The exhibition is located in the educational building of the BIA on 1/4 Lomonosova street and will last until February 15. It is freely available during open hours of the academy.
