At the XIV scientific and practical conference, which was held at our Baltic International Academy, at the section “Modern social psychology: theory and practice”, the reports of certified psychologists Inese Jurisa, Laura Simane-Vigante, Rita Osipova, who are representing the club of employers of the study field “Psychology”, aroused great interest. They analysed topical issues of modern psychology using specific examples and shared their work experience.
As Inese Jurisa, who not only manages the Senior Care Centre “AGATE”, but also fulfils duties of a clinical psychologist, noted in her report, knowledge of psychology is very important for social workers. She is convinced of it based on her personal experience.
Senior consultant psychologist at the company “TRIPOD link” Laura Simane-Vigante described the role of psychological counselling in the activities of various organisations. Where there are good labour relations and a healthy work environment, productivity is always higher.
Rita Osipova, labour psychologist at the Certification Centre of the Latvian Community of Railway Workers, analysed the importance of psychologists in selection of personnel and improving the safety of railway transport.
Summing up the results of these reports, the moderator of the section, professor of the BIA and head of the study direction “Psychology” Irina Plotka noted that all three speakers are graduates of our academy and in their places of work have proven themselves to be highly qualified specialists in various fields of psychology. In their reports, they organically combined theory and their personal experience.
