Artist and designer Olga Zhuravlyova is a long-time friend of the BIArt student gallery of our Baltic International Academy. Her first solo exhibition “Symphony of Flowers” was held here back in 2008. Since then, her works have been many times exhibited in the student gallery of the BIA. And in November, a new solo exhibition “Fantasies of Olga Zhuravlyova” was opened. It presents about thirty paintings created by her this year.
Each of these works is unique in its own way, when opening the exhibition, noted the curator of the gallery, member of the Union of Artists of Latvia Valentin Danilenko. The style of their creation is also original, it is even difficult to name it. This is a kind of emotional constructivism, created on the verge of the conscious and the unconscious.
But one thing is certain – her works surprise and delight. And it is no coincidence that they can be found in private collections in Germany, the USA, Ireland, the Netherlands. And in Latvia, many art lovers consider it an honour to have paintings by Olga Zhuravlyova in their collections.
At the opening of the exhibition, she warmly thanked the BIArt student gallery and the Baltic International Academy for their attention to her creative work and noted that it inspires her to search for new subjects.
The exhibition is located in the educational building of the BIA on 4 Valerijas Seiles Street and will last until December 20.
