Information for Erasmus+ Incoming Students
Study at Baltic International Academy under the Erasmus+ Programme
Are you interested in spending a semester or a full academic year at Baltic International Academy (BIA) under Erasmus+ programme?
Welcome to one of the largest private higher education institutions in Latvia, located in Riga — a dynamic and multicultural European city.
Being Erasmus Student is a great opportunity to have experience to living at Latvia and studies at BIA, join an international community, and study programs taught in English.
Eligibility
To participate in an Erasmus+ exchange at BIA:
- You must be a registered student at one of our Erasmus+ partner universities.
- There must be a valid Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement between your home university and Baltic International Academy.
- Your home university must nominate you officially by email before you can apply.

BIA maintains a wide network of Erasmus+ partner universities across Europe and beyond.

Nomination Deadlines for Partners:
- Autumn semester: 15 May
- Spring semester: 15 October
Application Procedure
After your nomination is accepted, you will receive a link to the online application form.
Application Deadlines:
- Autumn semester / Full academic year: 15 July
- Spring semester: 15 December
Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive a Welcome Package with detailed information about studies, accommodation, and letter of Acceptance.
Study Opportunities
Baltic International Academy offers a variety of study courses in English, available across different faculties such as:
- Finance
- Entrepreneurship management
- Tourism and Hospitality
- Web Design (only in Latvian language)
All incoming Erasmus+ students can choose courses from list of courses which will be sent by email. The course catalog posted on the website is only a description of all available courses.
Course Catalogue in English (BIA
Language of Instruction
Most courses offered to Erasmus+ students are taught in English.
A good command of English (minimum B1 level) is recommended to ensure successful participation in classes.
Support and Student Life
BIA provides comprehensive support to incoming Erasmus+ students:
- Assistance with arranging accommodation (the academy does not provide dormitories, but will offer a list of possible hostels)
- Orientation week for new students
- Access to libraries, computer labs, and student spaces
- Cultural and social events organized by the BIA Student Council
