On March 20, the Constitutional Assembly of our Baltic International Academy reviewed the results of the competition for the position of Rector of the BIA and elected Doctor of Sociology, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Science Vladislav Volkov as the Rector.
He is well known in scientific community in Latvia and far beyond its borders. After defending his PhD thesis in philosophy in 1989 and his doctoral dissertation in sociology in 1998, V.Volkov successfully worked in a number of higher education institutions in Latvia, was the head of the Institute of Social Research of Daugavpils University. He has two hundred scientific articles and publications, five scientific monographs.
Since 2015, his teaching and scientific activities have taken place within the walls of the Baltic International Academy. He was the head of the study field “European Studies”, conducts lectures on sociology, philosophy, research methods, organises scientific conferences and is the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Baltic Journal of Legal and Social Sciences”, which is formed and published in English by our Baltic International Academy.
In parallel with his main job, he successfully performs the duties of an expert in sociology, economics and entrepreneurship of the Latvian Council of Science.
