The BIArt gallery of our Baltic International Academy has made a new contribution to the development of the international charity project “Soul Speaks to Soul” (“No sirds uz dvēseli”). Under the leadership of the curator of the gallery, member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia Valentin Danilenko and the author of this project Alyona Savyuk, a collection of paintings was created and donated to care homes in Lithuania.
– Participation in this charity event has become a routine for artists, friends of our gallery, – Valentin Danilenko noted. Their works adorn many care homes in Latvia. And when our friends from Šiauliai State College, with which our academy and gallery have long-standing creative ties, suggested that we hold a similar event in Lithuania, our artists readily agreed. Many of them are frequent guests at this college.
Indeed, solo exhibitions of artists Yulia Shved, Valentin Danilenko, Maria Matveyeva, Katerina Baranova were successfully held here. And Alyona Savyuk not only demonstrated her works, but also held a workshop in oriental painting.
For the charity event in Lithuania, about twenty of their most uplifting works were donated by Alyona Savyuk, Valery Timofeyev, Irina Trumpele, Valentin Danilenko, Yulia Shved, Larisa Evina.
When accepting the gift of Latvian artists, the representative of the Šiauliai State College management Silvija Adomavičiene, who had previously exhibited her works at our academy, sincerely thanked them for their generosity and kind-heartedness and noted that the donated paintings, together with the works of Lithuanian artists, will bring joy to the residents of Lithuanian care homes.
