The new art exhibition “QUIET HARBOUR” at BIArt gallery has aroused well-deserved interest among students, teaching staff and guests of our Baltic International Academy. This is the first solo exhibition of the original artist Yuri Fedulov, who successfully combines painting and woodcarving in his creative work.
This is the artist’s second collaboration with the BIArt Gallery. As Yulia Shved, a graduate of our academy, well-known photographer and exhibition organizer, recalled at the opening of the exhibition, as a student she helped organise the icon exhibition “Close Your Eyes and Open Your Soul”, where Yuri Fedulov’s wood carvings received high evaluation. Since then, she believes, the themes of his works have become much more diverse, and his technique even more refined.
Valentin Danilenko, organizer and curator of the exhibition and member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia, highly evaluated professionalism of this unique woodcarver at the opening of the exhibition. He rightly noted that Yuri Fedulov’s unique talent and dedication deserve praise and popularisation.
Indeed, the filigree woodcarving demonstrated in his works “Madonna and Child,” “Prayer” and “View of Riga” involuntarily evokes admiration even among art connoisseurs. Attendees of the exhibition opening also highly evaluated Yuri Fedulov’s paintings.
The exhibition is located in the academic building of the BIA (4 Valerijas Seiles Street) and is open free of charge during the working hours of the academy until November 15.
