“GREEN LAMP” is a club of poetry and music lovers, which is creatively led by writer Nina Vevere. She periodically hosts meetings of club members with poets and writers, bards and artists. These meetings are lively, informal and friendly, illuminated by the warm light of the “Green Lamp”. Such was the meeting in October, which took place at the International Centre-Museum OF Vladimir Vysotsky.
At this meeting, guests were warmly welcomed by Lyubov Kashirina, coordinator of the museum and assistant professor of our Baltic International Academy. She spoke about the museum’s activities, plans and exhibits. Guests were particularly interested in her speech about Vladimir Vysotsky’s lyrical poetry and getting acquainted with text of an interview with Marina Vlady. L. Kashirina’s speech was complemented by well-known bards from Riga Yuri Tihomirov and Sergey Stepanenko, who performed a number of Vladimir Vysotsky’s lyrical songs.
Writer and publisher Alexander Geronyan introduced members of the club “Green Lamp” to the recently published book “Vysotsky in Latvia”. It contains many interesting and informative recollections from Latvian residents about the renowned poet, bard and artist, who once performed twice at the Baltic International Academy.
Nina Vevere, head of the poetry and music club, warmly thanked the International Centre-Museum for the opportunity to become better acquainted with Vladimir Vysotsky’s work and noted that many of his works have a beneficial effect on the moral education of young people.
