Useful exchange of experience

Following a good tradition, Panevezys State College, with which our Baltic International Academy has long-standing scientific and creative ties, holds the International Week of Science and Education during the autumn semester. During this week, lecturers from higher education institutions in Lithuania, Poland and Latvia give guest lectures to students on topical issues in economics and business.

This autumn, our Academy was represented at the International Week in Panevezys by the director of the European Centre for the Certification of Foreign Languages (ECL), BIA lecturer Julija Rastorgujeva, and assistant professor at the College of Accountancy and Finance Angelina Tjurina.

Lecturer Julija Rastorgujeva presented an interesting and comprehensive report “From Compliance to Competitiveness: The Role of Accessibility in Modern Business”, in which she analysed the opportunities for using digital services by people with disabilities. She also shared her experience in teaching students the techniques of audio description.

Assistant Professor Angelina Tjurina delivered an informative lecture on “The Basic Principles of the Latvian Tax System”, illustrating it with examples from her own practice.

The guest lecturers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Panevezys College Innovation Centre and the scientific research of its lecturers and students.
