Inspiring gifts of artists

Our BIArt gallery organised an unusual exhibition “GIFTS OF ARTISTS” at the Baltic International Academy. It features nearly one hundred paintings by sixty artists, which they donated to the Latvian Oncology Centre as part of the “From Heart to Soul” charity project. Among them are many well-known artists, such as Alyona Savyuk, Maria Abduyeva, Irina Trumpele, Nugzar Paksadze, Mairita Tsoneva, Valentin Danilenko, and others.

Since the Latvian Oncology Centre is currently undergoing renovation, its management suggested to show this exposition at the BIArt gallery, which had previously created it with the help of the artists. The artists also supported this proposal.

As noted at the exhibition opening by Maria Abduyeva, well-known artist and one of the coordinators of the “From Heart to Soul” charity project, this is only a part of the gifts that artists have donated to care homes and treatment centres in recent years. These are truly inspiring gifts, as the paintings undoubtedly improve the mood of patients, strengthen their hopes for a better future and make the world around them a brighter place.

Valentin Danilenko, curator of the BIArt gallery and member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia, noted that artists from other countries who have previously exhibited their paintings at the BIArt gallery also actively participate in charity events. This is also reflected in the paintings by artists from Italy, the USA, South Korea, Lithuania, Estonia and Ukraine, which are also presented at the exhibition “Gifts of Artists”. He thanked all participants for their active participation in the charity events and expressed the opinion that their example will inspire other artists as well.

The exhibition is located in the BIA building at 1/4 Valerijas Seiles Street and will be open until April 20. Admission is free during the working hours of the academy.
