Our Baltic International Academy has established friendly academic and scientific ties with the well-known University of Siedlce in Poland. Its lecturers are frequent guests in BIA classrooms, and our professors and assistant professors deliver guest lectures in Siedlce. This university actively participates in organising international scientific and practical conferences at our academy, and BIA researchers participate in organising similar conferences in Poland.
In April, this list of creative contacts was expanded by a trip to Siedlce by a group of BIA lecturers and students within the international ERASMUS+ programme. The delegation included study programme directors Ksenia Doronina, Julia Mahmudova, rector’s assistant Maria Tkachukova, as well as master and bachelor study programme students Shavkat Rakhmatov, Madina Ustamukhamedova, Sofia Galushkina, Alexandra Afanasyeva, Adele Kruzmane, who creatively carried out assigned tasks.
The BIA delegation was warmly welcomed at the Polish university. A long-time friend of our academy, Professor Jacek Zielinski introduced the guests in his introductory lecture to the history of the university, its contribution to the development of natural sciences, humanities and economics, as well as the specifics of organising the study process for Polish and international students.
Doctor of science Julia Wlasiuk delivered a comprehensive lecture on the Polish education system, its characteristics and strengths, conducted a workshop and a seminar, and also led an informative tour of the university, during which special attention was paid to the Scientific Library.
During the visit, a discussion was held on opportunities for further development of cooperation between the two institutions. In particular, the Polish colleagues were invited to participate in the BIA Summer School.
