Intensive study week in Portugal

An interesting and valuable week of intensive learning under the International ERASMUS+ Programme took place in Portugal at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre. Lecturers and students from universities in Portugal, Germany, Bulgaria, Latvia and Estonia participated in the event. Our country was represented at this scientific and practical event by a delegation from the Baltic International Academy, which included BIA assistant professors Svetlana Polovko-Valtere and Alla Iljina, as well as students Yuliia Serdiuk, Anna Troshkova, Sayyorakhon Kambarova and Darya Bakunina.

The topic of this unique scientific and practical seminar-colloquium was formulated as follows: “A Sustainable and “Green” Future: Joint Efforts to Combat Climate Change.” During the event, participants analysed environmental, economic and social issues related to global climate change. The lecturers delivered lectures, led discussions and seminars, while the students, under their guidance, developed projects on “green” topics.

As Assistant Professor Svetlana Polovko-Valtere noted after returning to the academy, this intensive learning week was beneficial for both students and lecturers. It encouraged them to take a fresh look at “green” topics in both teaching and scientific research.
