In a businesslike and friendly atmosphere, the fifth academic year of the “Silver University” concluded at our Baltic International Academy. This is a unique charitable project of the BIA, as all classes for Riga residents of senior age are provided free of charge. The University’s creative initiatives are also supported by a special grant from the well-known charitable foundation “Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds”, which has had a positive impact on the University’s activities.
The final session was opened by the Rector of BIA, Associate Professor Vladislav Volkov. He congratulated the University’s participants on the completion of the fifth academic year, emphasized the importance of continuing intellectual development in silver age, and invited those interested to prepare articles for the BIA scientific journal – “Baltic Journal of Legal and Social Sciences”.
The permanent coordinator of the Silver University, leading researcher of BIA Oksana Filina, summarized the results of the academic year and warmly thanked the Academy’s lecturers – psychologist Vera Krievinya, philologist Lyubov Kashirina, historian Tatyana Makarova and lawyer Konstantin Matveyev – for their interesting and informative lectures delivered as part of the University’s programme.
The University’s participants also expressed their sincere gratitude to the Academy and its lecturers for providing them with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of contemporary issues. They warmly welcomed the concluding lecture, which was delivered by Tatyana Makarova.
At the end of the event, participants were awarded certificates recognizing their successful completion of the fifth academic year at the BIA “Silver University”.
