Anniversary gift of artists to the academy

A good gift for the 30th anniversary of the Baltic International Academy was prepared by the artists of fine arts. They took an active part in the anniversary exhibition of the BiArt student gallery, named “Friends of the Academy. Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the BIA”. 73 artists from Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, USA presented 137 works to the audience.

Among them are such well-known artists as: Edgars Mikelsons, Vladimir Pavlov, Irina Trumpele, Nikolai Krivoshein, Lidia Drozdova. Photos by Vladimir Starkov and Andrey Ivanov fit into the exposition as well. Most of them have previously participated in exhibitions of BiArt student gallery and they have a right to call themselves as friends of the academy.

As noted by the curator of the exhibition, a member of the Union of Artists of Latvia – Valentin Danilenko, the exhibition also has paintings by artists who are no longer with us. This is a tribute to the memory of the participants of exhibitions. And over the past years, there have already been more than five hundred of exhibitions. The works were taken from the gallery's storerooms or provided by collectors.

Opening the exhibition, Stanislav Buka, chairman of the Senate of the Baltic International Academy, noted that in Latvia only in our academy is a student gallery that has been exhibiting works by famous and emerging artists for 20 years for free. The BIArt has already held more than five hundred exhibitions and showed up many new names to the world. He sincerely thanked the artists for their active participation in the work of the student gallery and their great contribution to introducing students to the fine arts.

Famous artists Nikolai Pavlov, Nikolai Krivoshein, Alena Savyuk and collector Anatoly Khvoynitsky thanked the academy for the opportunity to exhibit their new works at the exhibitions of the BiArt student gallery.

The anniversary exhibition is located on three floors in the building on the ¼ Lomonosova street, and will be there until December 15.
