A step towards emotional intelligence

The Centre for Psychological Counseling of our Baltic International Academy, apart from professional consultations, carries out a great educational work. It organises lectures, seminars on topical issues of psychology. Reasonable interest among lecturers and students of the BIA was aroused by an open lecture on the role and importance of emotional intelligence in the modern world. This relatively new concept is increasingly in demand among psychologists and managers in Latvia and abroad.

On May 22, this lecture was held face-to-face and via videoconference by Oksana Meishele, Master of Psychology, certified coach of the programme “Emotional Intelligence”. The discussion about the formation and features of emotional intelligence was also useful and creative.

As the coordinator of the Centre for Psychological Counseling, assistant professor of the BIA Vera Krievina noted, the informative lecture not only deepened the understanding of the possibilities and effectiveness of emotional intelligence, but also introduced the audience to a number of methods for managing their own and others’ emotions.
