A lecture-workshop on the topic “Silence management” aroused great interest among students and lecturers of our Baltic International Academy. It was held by a professor from Madrid, an external quality consultant of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation Senor Miguel Rivas.
He was one of the first in Europe to start the study of this new direction in management and gained popularity among specialists who use the principles of silence management in their activity. This is a relatively new scientific term, which is increasingly being used in pedagogy, political science, diplomacy and tourism.
Summing up the results of the lecture-workshop, Vice-Rector for Science, Professor of the Baltic International Academy Vladislav Volkov noted that its topic is innovative. It opens up a new perspective on the meaning of silence in communication, and the study of silence management is worthy of being included in the curricula of the BIA study programmes.
At the end of the visit, the guest from Spain had a conversation with the Chairman of the BIA Senate Stanislav Buka and Vice-Rector for International Relations Inta Buka about the possibilities of cooperation between our academy and the UNWTO Academy.
