Cycle of lectures by a lawyer from Poland

A cycle of lectures delivered by Doctor of Law Bartosz Ziemblicki from the Wroclaw University of Economics and Law under the ERASMUS + programme aroused great interest among lecturers and students of the study field “Law” of our Baltic International Academy.

The topicality of these lectures is eloquently demonstrated by their titles: “Global Online Dispute Resolution System for Business (Online Arbitration)”, “Multinational Corporations as Subjects of International Law”, “Piercing the Corporate Veil (Responsibility of the Parent Company for Liabilities of the Subsidiary Company) in International Law, Law of the European Union and National Law”.

The topicality and creativity of the lectures was also noted by the head of the study field “Law”, associate professor of the BIA Irina Gaft. She emphasised that law science could not remain aloof from the rapid development of Internet technologies. Their implementation significantly expands the possibilities of legal practice. Today, Internet technologies make it possible to resolve disputes online and for business. The globalisation of markets has actualised issues related to the legal responsibility of parent and subsidiary companies registered in different countries. It was useful for our students to get acquainted with the opinion of a well-known Polish lawyer on these topics.
