Winter intake

Following a good tradition, winter intake is carried out at our Baltic International Academy. It allows Latvian and foreign applicants, who for some reason did not manage to enroll at the BIA at the beginning of the academic year, to make up for at least half a year. They can enroll in any of the programmes accredited by the academy also in winter. Of course, they will defend their theses not in summer, but in winter.

We asked the head of the BIA Admissions Committee, Marina Likhushina, to tell us about how the winter intake process is going this year.

- We began to receive applications from foreign applicants already in November, she noted. - They have a longer admission process. At the beginning of December, we have already received about a hundred applications for studies at our academy. Their geography, the same as last year, is vast: India, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and other countries.

In December, we began accepting applications from residents of Latvia. Each of them has the opportunity to personally visit the Admissions Committee and receive comprehensive consultation. This year we are introducing “early booking” of study places at the academy into practice. Those applicants, who will submit an application for studies in the 2024/2025 academic year before March 30, will receive a discount on tuition fees.

Winter intake for foreigners will last until December 15, and for residents of Latvia until February 1. I would like to remind you that admission conditions in more detail are presented on the academy’s website bsa.edu.lv in the section “Admission”. Documents for admission can be sent to the Admissions Committee in scanned form to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots.
