The International Student Friendship Festival was held at our Baltic International Academy in a warm, friendly atmosphere. It was organized by our academy, the agency for support of foreign students Education Bridge, and the Latvian-Bashkir Society Akbuzat. The festival was attended by foreign students of the BIA and their friends from other higher education establishments in Riga.
When opening the festival, Deputy Chairman of the Latvian-Bashkir Society Akbuzat Ramil Kadyrov and the head of the Caucasian dance ensemble Ilona Tkhagazitova noted that the student friendship festival has become a good tradition in Latvia and helps strengthen friendly ties between students and acquaint them with the cultures of different nations. They thanked the Baltic International Academy for its great assistance in organizing and holding the festival.
The concert programme of the festival was opened by young inhabitant of Riga Alisa Lebedeva, who sang the popular Latvian song “Tik balti” (“So white”) in Latvian. Her brilliant performance was continued with sparkling Kabardian dance of girls with jugs. And in total, two dozen dances and melodies of the peoples of Georgia, Tatarstan, India, Sri Lanka, Yakutia and other countries were performed on the large stage of the assembly hall.
