The traditional exhibition “The World of Colours”, organised by the student gallery “BiArt” under the guidance of Valentin Danilenko, a member of the Union of Artists of Latvia, is very popular among students, lecturers and guests of our Baltic International Academy. The variety of themes, formats, styles, extravaganza of colours delights the eye, lifts the mood and makes the world brighter.
And this year there are many new, sometimes unexpected, things to see, noted Stanislav Buka, Chairman of the BIA Senate, when opening the exhibition. It provides artists with a good opportunity to show their creations, look at themselves from the outside, and compare themselves with others. By good tradition, it has an international character. It presents works by artists from China, Germany, the USA and Ukraine. Representatives of higher education establishments of Ukraine take part in the opening of the exhibition.
This year, 78 artists and photographers presented almost one and a half hundred works. Among them are such famous artists as Edgar Mickelson, Babken Stepanyan, Valentin Danilenko, Vladimir Pavlov, Maria Abduyeva and others. There are a lot of newcomers at the exhibition. The works by Alexander, Dmitry, Inna, Sofia Talanovs, Taisiya Veidere, Oleg Sysolyatin attract attention.
Colourful realistic and abstract paintings are complemented well by the artistic photographs by Evgeny Pugin, Kristina Lyakhova, Vladimir Starkov, Emma Jenifer, Yulia Shved.
This year, the art studios of Valery Makovy, Yulia Demenkova, Lyudmila Perets and Alexander Pakhomov, Alena Savyuk, Irina Trumpele, Maria Matveyeva, and the Day Centre “Cerību māja” took an active part in the formation of the exposition. The heads of these studios were awarded Certificates of appreciation of the Baltic International Academy. The works by Marie Chang and Valery Dichkovsky received audience award diplomas.
The exhibition is located in the BIA building on 1/4 Valeria Seile (Lomonosova) Street and will last until July 13.
