The curator of our BiArt student gallery, member of the Union of Artists of Latvia Valentin Danilenko is well known far beyond the borders of our country. Exhibitions of his works were held in Budapest, Kazan, Tallinn, Rostov-on-Don, Siauliai. And in June Karaganda was added to this list. Here, in the Karaganda Regional Museum of Fine Arts, his personal exhibition “There is nothing more visible than the abstract world” is being held with great success. It presents 35 paintings of different themes and different genres.
Director of the museum Bibigul Kudabayeva, when opening the exhibition, noted that the meeting with the works of the Latvian artist is a great event for inhabitants of Karaganda. His works evoke surprise and admiration. He has a special European view of the world. In his works, even abstractions turn into reality. We are glad that we have such a kind and warm-hearted friend in Latvia.
As Valentin Danilenko himself could not attend the opening of the exhibition, he was represented by his longtime friend, member of the board of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan Lydia Drozdova. She reminded that the creative biography of the Latvian artist has long been associated with Karaganda. Here he got acquainted with fine arts as a child. His paintings have been exhibited here before. He donated a number of them to the local museum. Thanks to his initiative, two halls with paintings by artists from Kazakhstan were opened at the Baltic International Academy. He also contributed to the creation of the art album “Latvia-Kazakhstan”, which presents the works of artists from Latvia and Kazakhstan.
In his address to the workers of the Karaganda Regional Museum of Fine Arts, which was read by Lydia Drozdova, Valentin Danilenko cordially thanked the inhabitants of Karaganda for unselfish and creative organisation of his personal exhibition and promised to send them his new works.
