The “BIA Silver University” has started classes

In a friendly atmosphere the classes began at the "Silver University" of our Baltic International Academy, located at the European center. It is held free of charge for the pensioners or “silver age residents” of Riga, as this is BIA’s charity project.

Already the second academic year has begun with a diversified program Open day. It was started by the speech of the University’s head, BIA’s member of the board, Professor Valery Nikiforov. He congratulated the audience on the beginning of the new academic year and wished them a success in expansion of the outlook on life and mastering new useful skills.

The coordinator of the university, Professor Oksana Filina thanked the audience for their business proposals to improve the educational process, introduced them to the program of classes, and the lecturers, who will conduct lectures during the new year. Among them are well-known teachers Vladimir Bagirov, Konstantin Matveev, Anatoly Rakityansky, Marina Gunare, Irina Markina, Tatyana Kuzmina, Lyubov Kashirina, Larisa Gaidarova, who briefly outlined the topics of future lectures.

At the end of the Open Day, Olga Noginova invited the audience to visit the Vladimir Vysotsky Museum, the BIA employee, poet Pyotr Antropov, has read his poems, and art critic Irina Markina gave a tour of the BiArt students’ art gallery.

The next classes will be held on Wednesdays at 15.00 at the BIA’s European Center, located on Lomonosova street 1/4, room 207.
