Presentation of Boris Infantiev’s Monograph

At our Baltic International Academy, the presentation of the monograph of literature specialist Boris Infantiev “Russian-Latvian Literary Relations” aroused keen interest among the attendees of the Silver University. This book was published on the initiative of the Old Believers’ Society of Latvia with the support of the Latvian Orthodox Church and the Baltic International Academy. Natalya Gratkovskaya, director of the BIA Central Scientific Library, successfully performed the duties of the editor of this publication.

Veterans of our academy remember well the professor, literature specialist, linguist, historian Boris Infantiev, who was awarded the Order of the Three Stars, who taught at the BIA. When he was alive, in 2007, his book “Baltic and Slavic Cultural Relations” was published. The new book became a memorial completion of the first monograph.

When introducing the novelty to the listeners, the author of the project, chairman of the Old Believers’ Society of Latvia Illarion Ivanov warmly thanked the Baltic International Academy for its kind attitude towards the memory of the scientist and for help in perpetuating his works. They contain an invaluable summary of his research and reflections on the interaction of the cultures of the Russian and Latvian nations.

BIA professor Oksana Filina, director of the Central Scientific Library Natalya Gratkovskaya, assistant professor Irina Markina and a number of attendees of the “Silver University” took part in the discussion of the monograph. They noted that it will find its readers among lecturers and students, among veterans and youth.
