Public transport services in Riga are provided by “Riga Satiksme” and include buses, trams, trolleybuses, minibuses and night buses which run in weekend nights.
You should register your e-ticket or buy it from the driver every time you enter public transport.
You can buy your e-ticket in ticket trade outlets of “Rigas Satiksme”, kiosks of Narvessen, ticket vending machines at bus stops, in an e-shop or from the driver.

Taxi
You should pay additional attention to the tariffs, indicated on the back doors of the taxi. Please, always make sure you are ready to pay the sum requested by the driver. You can find out the approx. cost of your trip when ordering a taxi.

Bike rentals

Car rentals
If you decided to drive a car on your own, you may rent a car in such companies as: Europcar, SIXT, Budget and Avis.
Rental conditions and prices depend on the company, duration of rent and season. Sometimes a safety deposit is required.
Please, take into account that in Latvia you must use seat belts, have headlights on at all times and that the blood alcohol level cannot exceed 0,5 ppm
Types of tickets
One-month ticket for all routes of trams, trolleybuses and buses for all days of month – is the most popular between students due to 50% discount.
It is price is 16 EUR and you can purchase it only in Customer service centers of “Riga Satiksme” based on your valid ISIC-card and confirmation of your student status from the Academy (can be ordered in the Academy’s study department: 4, Lomonosova Str., room 303) . You should also have your photo 3*4 because it is a personalized ticket.
This ticket is valid for month from the day of registration and should be used within 12 months from the day of purchase. This no limits in number of trips.
One-month ticket for a certain route has the same terms of use, but is cheaper. It is price for students is 10 EUR.
Ticket for a certain number of trips – is available for 1, 2, 4, 10, 20 and 50 trips and can be purchased in ticket trade outlets of “Rigas Satiksme”, kiosks of Narvessen, ticket vending machines at bus stops, in the e-shop. The price of a single ticket is 1,15 EUR.
Single ticket also can be purchased from the driver, but its price will be 2 EUR.
Time ticket for students – is a one-hour ticket for any tram, bus or trolleybus route. It is price for students is 30 eurocents.
