In the modern world every day there is a huge amount of change that applies to all aspects of our lives. They affect the service market too. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of demand: what was popular just yesterday, today no one else needs. In such circumstances, one has to compete with a huge number of companies offering their services, and the ability to think systematically, creatively, to use the entire complex of communications for sales, to work for the final result can play a decisive role in this struggle. The so-called Creative Economy is based on this principle.
The Master's program follows a modern international trend, based on the concept of "Creative economy" or the economy of knowledge, i.e. a special sector of the economy based on intellectual activity. The main field of economic activity is intellectual property, and the main tool here is the human brain. Creativity, as one of its properties, helps to achieve the best results.
The aim of the study programme is to provide internationally competitive higher level education in tourism and hospitality, communication, leisure and recreation in order to prepare critically thinking and qualified professionals whose up-to-date knowledge, leadership skills and competences enable them to work in international teams and effectively manage organisations in the public, non-governmental and private sectors, ensuring their development and change.
Program content
The curriculum includes a block of humanitarian and a block of managerial disciplines, an important aspect of training is the development of the entire complex of communications and how to manage them, much attention is paid to disciplines related to management, psychology and various ways of communication.
At the program, undergraduates try to develop an understanding of changes in the markets, changes in consumer behavior, teach them creative techniques and show that understanding these methods and processes helps not only in the leisure and entertainment industry, but also in any other type of tourism and hospitality commercial activity. The acquired skills and knowledge will help them sell any product on the market.
Professional and scientific relations with enterprises and universities of different countries, participation in international conferences will provide you with the diverse training needed by modern specialists: to understand modern markets and modern consumers, the ability to work with representatives of different cultures, bring creative components to all areas of activity, and respond quickly to changes occurring in the international markets of the leisure and entertainment industry.
A Master's degree gives the right to a graduate to conduct pedagogical and scientific activities and to continue training in doctoral studies. In addition, the degree gives the right to hold senior positions in the tourism industry, hospitality business, leisure and entertainment, in the field of marketing, requiring applicants to have a Master's degree. The peculiarity of the preparation of masters is:
- mastering the skills that allow the graduate to successfully work in the marketing departments of the tourism industry, catering and hotel business, leisure and entertainment;
- the acquisition by graduates of universal and specialized competencies that contribute to its social mobility and competitiveness in the labor market;
- the formation of graduates with a vocational orientation in the development of postgraduate and additional educational programs;
- the formation of skills to independently solve problems requiring an innovative approach;
- development of abilities to find non-standard organizational and managerial decisions.
Our graduates head their travel companies, work as chief managers in hotels, head customer service at banks, head private theaters and museums, organize international festivals, and teach in high schools. Entry requirements
The Bachelor's programme not only enables you to become a highly qualified professional in the global tourism and hospitality sector, but also to take advantage of opportunities in the sector to promote goods and products and services in any field of activity. To achieve this goal, we make the most of modern learning technologies.
Persons who have acquired the following rights are eligible for admission to the BIA Professional Master's Program "Communication Management in the Entertainment and Leisure Industry":
- professional bachelor's degree and/or professional qualification in business, management, marketing, finance and/or economics;
- academic Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance and/or Economics (in this case, students must additionally complete an internship of 30 ECTS);
- academic bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing, finance and/or economics;
- professional bachelor's degree in other fields (in this case, students must additionally take some study courses in the preparatory semester);
- an academic bachelor's degree in other fields, provided that there is at least three years of work experience in the field of entertainment, leisure or hospitality (in this case, students must additionally take some study courses in the preparatory semester)
- English at least at B2 level
