The workshop on creating technology-based startups, organized jointly by the Baltic International Academy (BIA) and the international platform for commercialising science - Commercialization Reactor (CR), was successful. It attracted a great deal of interest from both Latvian and foreign BIA students. The event was opened by assistant professor of the BIA Inese Ratanova, who introduced the event speaker, representative of the Commercialization Reactor Arseniy Sergeyev, co-founder and CEO of deep-tech VERITACELL, to the students.
Arseniy introduced BIA students to the process of commercialization of technologies, the stages of creating deep-tech startups, as well as venture financing opportunities. He also answered all their questions, creating a creative and friendly atmosphere that was highly appreciated by the students. The students from various study directions such as “Management, administration and management of real estate”, “Economics”, and “Hotel and restaurant service, organization of recreation and tourism” took an active part in the workshop. The event was also joined by the director of the study program “International Finance and Economics” Zhanna Chernoshtana and the director of the Center for Psychological Counseling Vera Krievina.
This seminar was an important step forward in the field of start-up creation and confirmed the commitment of BIA and CR to support students in the commercialization of technology.
