Mobility participant experience

Mobility participant experience

I chose to participate in Erasmus + staff development mobility program, because it brings positive experience both to students and academic staff of both institutions involved.
During my mobility period I discussed with Estonian Euroakadeemia Design Faculty management and professors aims and organisational aspects of the Latvian Modern Photograhy exhibition in Library – Exhibition area of the main building of Euroakadeemia.
During preparation period we exchanged opinions about creating an exposition of modern conceptual art. We found common approach to modern photography art exposition arrangement. It took some time to reach the agreement, because modern art perception and development in Latvia and Estonia are slightly different. For this reason we chose an artist - Olga Kull, who was born in Estonia, but works in Latvia.
Result of this mobility program was very positive, because we found
a way to show Estonian students and academic staff how photography art develops in Latvia. Olga Kull delivered a master class on that subject and answered various questions of the audience.
My professional and personal benefits from Erasmus + staff development mobility are following: I learnt about approach to exhibition organization in Euroakadeemia; exchanged opinions with academic staff about modern art development: learnt about methods and ways of teaching art and presenting it to students in Estonia.
The benefits of Baltic International Academy from the mobility of my Erasmus + staff development are : Euroakedeemia will bring to Latvia exhibition of best works of former and present art student; deliver a master class by Euroakadeemia professors to our students and professors.
There were some challenges in preparing and implementing mobility
– both institutions had different approaches to understanding of presenting art processes to students. Euroakadeemia before did not have art exhibition space, like Baltic International Academy has.
Our project achievement is not only exchange of modern art exhibitions and master classes, but also decision of Euroakadeemia to organize special art exhibition space in the main building of the educational institution.
